Operate the electronic industrial property application processing system in 2019
WIPO IPAS system has the ability to flexibly adjust and extract information to help process industrial property applications faster.

On January 22, at the seminar on intellectual property information, answering questions from VnExpress reporters about the innovations in the application process, Mr. Dinh Huu Phi, Director of National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, said Many solutions have been applied, including the introduction of the electronic industrial proprietary management system (WIPO IPAS).

The system supported by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has many outstanding advantages, such as more flexible adjustment, friendly interface, international standards and easy connection with other available tools of WIPO. Through application processor staffs will be more convenient in the process of reviewing and controlling information.


According to the roadmap, starting on April 1, the new IPAS system will apply to industrial design applications, by the end of 2019, will apply to trademarks and early 2020 will apply to patent applications, by the end of 2020, will complete online public services.

Mr. Phi said, this system helps processing speed is much higher, make a real change. Along with the process of processing applications, establishing rights to improve and apply information technology to become increasingly the number of processed applications while the processing capacity is limited, facilities and techniques are degraded.
