In response to World Intellectual Property Day, April 20 in Ho Chi Minh City, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam- Ministry of Science and Technology collaborated with the Department of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union to organize a Community Event to celebrate the World IP Day April 26 in Vietnam with the topic of Intellectual Property and Sports.
Many useful information have been suggested by intellectual property experts for the startup community, through the workshop "Identifying intangible assets and intellectual property in startups."
After finishing the preliminary round at the end of March 2019, the Organization Board of the Patent Contest 2018 selected 10 outstanding records into the final round, including: Mechanical Industry (4 records); Electronic industry (3 records); 3 records of pharmaceutical chemistry, environment - biology and medicine.
On April 10, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly met and commented on the addition and amendment of some articles of the Intellectual Property Law, focusing mainly on patent protection and geographical indication and sanctions for infringement of intellectual property rights to be consistent with Vietnam's commitments in the CPTPP Agreement.
The topic of World Intellectual Property Day 2019 provides a completely new aspect in the application of Intellectual Property Law (IP) into the sports business.
In the ranking of the 100 most valuable national brands in the world in 2018, announced by Brand Finance, "Vietnam" is valued at $ 235 billion and belongs to a strong brand group.
Intellectual property (IP) plays an important role for socio-economic development because of the values that intellectual property brings. Integrating contents on IP in the local development plan will be the solution to increase the value of this intangible asset.

New free trade agreements (FTAs), typically the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement and Transpacific Progress (CPTPP), have improved the level of intellectual property (IP) protection beyond compared with the international standard, the WTO Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS).
