Signing to strengthen coordination of State management role in intellectual property
Memorandum of cooperation on intellectual property between the two units of the National of Intellectual Property of Vietnam under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry Inspectorate to enhance coordination in performing the role of State management IP issues are assigned by the Ministry's leadership, contributing to improving the efficiency of IP enforcement.

Overview of the signing ceremony.

On December 27, 2019, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation on Intellectual Property between the Department of Intellectual Property under the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Inspectorate.

Mr. Dinh Huu Phi said that the signing aimed to fulfill the State management role on intellectual property of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Office of Intellectual Property committed to strengthening coordination in performing functions, the mission of two Units. Coordination activities are carried out on the basis of compliance with legal provisions and principles of sharing, goodwill and cooperation between the two Units.

Field and form of cooperation will focus on policy and law making; Settlement of complaints about industrial property; Enforcement of industrial property rights; Settling petitions and proposals of organizations and individuals; Training and retraining to improve staff capacity.

In addition, the two sides will promote extracurricular activities and exchanges between the two Units to enhance the understanding and information sharing between officials and public servants of the two Units.

The leaders of the two Units agreed that the Intellectual Property Inspection Office (under the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Science and Technology) and the Office for Implementation and Complaint Handling (under the National Office of Intellectual Property) are the focal points for proposing specific activities according to Memorandum contents.

Immediately after the Memorandum of Understanding was signed, the two sides will discuss to develop more specific cooperation plans to implement the Memorandum of Understanding.
