Share with Online Vietnam Quality Reporter (VietQ.vn) on the sidelines of the conference "Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) - Some important commitments in the field of intellectual property and important things” has just taken place, Science and Technology Minister Chu Ngoc Anh said, most of the intellectual property commitments in the EVFTA Agreement are in accordance with the laws of Vietnam.

However, the Agreement also sets a number of standards higher than Vietnamese law, including protection of 169 EU geographical indications with a level of protection as high as that of Vietnamese law protection for geographical indications for wines and brandy; or acceding to the Hague Agreement on the international registration of industrial designs, within 2 years after the date of entry into force of this Agreement, etc.

Therefore, along with the active preparation of documents for submission to the National Assembly for approval of the EVFTA Agreement, we have been preparing carefully to ensure the full and effective implementation of these commitments.
