Ca Mau proposed many climate change responding projects
People's Committee of Ca Mau province proposed to Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for consideration and approval of the project for "Building the embankment to plant coastal mangrove forests for erosion prevention due to climate change." It is the most urgent project for investment period 2016-2020.


Many coastal areas of mangrove forests in Ca Mau are serious erosion.

Specifically, in the period from 2016-2020, Ca Mau will build coastal protection embankments of U Minh district and Tran Van Thoi district, a total length of 25 km, the embankment crest level is from 1.2 m to 1.6 m. Material embankment with centrifugal reinforced concretes combine with local materials.

Then, Ca Mau province is expected to carry out rehabilitation and management of mangrove forests: plant 250 hectares of protection forest behind embankments and 250 hectares of natural regeneration forest. The total project investment is more than 657 billion VND, from the capital support program to respond to climate change (SP - RCC).
