Construction of sea dykes in Vung Tau - Go Cong adapts to climate change
In order to find a comprehensive solution to solve the problem of flooding due to the combination of the upstream flood, heavy rain and tides, Vung Tau - Go Cong sea dyke project was proposed.

This project is proposed based on the regional irrigation master plan, current technical and technological capacity of Vietnam and the world as well as on the actual existing sea dyke construction in countries, such as Netherlands, Korea, Japan etc. Total investment capital for the project of sea dykes of Vung Tau - Go Cong is 74,000 billion VND, divided into 3 phases.

When forming this sea dykes, the benefits brought to Ho Chi Minh City are huge when exploiting 8,000ha of low-lying areas, it is often flooded, reduces agricultural losses, reduces river bank erosion, reduces floods and causes mechanical damage infrastructure, increases production and business, reduce medical costs.

For the Mekong Delta, increase agricultural production, reduce damage caused by inundation, improve the acid sulphate soil, and reduce pump costs.

In addition, the formation of sea dykes will create a shortage of traffic from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau, as well as from the western provinces to Vung Tau and vice versa.
