Hai Duong: Spent over 13 billion VND to upgrade protective forests
Hai Duong People’s Committee has decided to spend over 13 billion VND for 2.438,55 hectares of special use - protective forest period 2014-2020.

The project aims to improve the quality of protective forest, special use forest in Hai Duong, ensuring protective functions, landscapes and environment protection in the region.

In 2014-2016, Hai Duong carried out to upgrade program on 565, 1 hectares of special-use, protective forest in 20 communes, wards in Chi Linh town and Kinh Mon district. In addition, the project also improved 155,39 ha of purebred eucalyptus forest and natural Acacia forests with low density and quality; enriched 406.17 ha of degraded forests, low density and weak forests; grew 3,54 ha forest on poor soil condition, and built nursery in Cong Hoa commune, Chi Linh town for forestation, and so on.

After period 2014-2016, Hai Duong will assess the project’s efficiency in order to deploy in the upcoming periods.
