Detect more than 11,000 products of the fake trademark of Louis Vuiton and Hermes
The Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department has just cooperated with Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs Department to search and discover over 11,000 products suspected of counterfeiting famous brands, such as Louis Vuiton, Hermes, Versace, Gucci, Chanel, Adidas.

Accordingly, Team 4 (Anti-smuggling Investigation Department, General Department of Customs) presides and coordinates with Team 1 (Anti-smuggling Investigation Department) and Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs Department (Lao Cai Customs Department)  searched the warehouse of NA General Trading Limited Company at the international road border gate No. II Kim Thanh, Lao Cai.

Search results, Customs forces discovered up to 11,045 products are bags, wallets, shoes, belts, sandals, backpacks labeled famous brands, such as Louis Vuiton, Hermes, Versace, Gucci, Chanel, Adidas.

Customs force doubted that the above goods are fake and infringes upon intellectual property rights. It is known that the number of goods belong to N.A. Import and Export Company Limited.

Reportedly, N.A Import and Export Limited Company directly allows people to pick up the two above-mentioned trucks from China to Vietnam via Kim Thanh International Road No. II border gate.

The case is being further verified and handled by the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department.

Accordingly, the functional force unexpectedly inspected 7 business establishments in hot spots of contraband and counterfeit goods, such as Hang Ngang, Hang Dieu, Bong, Hang, Hai Ba Trung, Hang Ca and Hang Duong streets and etc.

At the time of inspection, the authorities detected and detained many goods showing signs of counterfeit trademarks, such as handbags, leather wallets, fashion accessories, belts, pants, hats, sandals, shirts, shoes, sandals branded Burrbery, Lacoste, Fendi, Nike, Adidas, Gucci, Chanel, LV and some clothes, cosmetics, belts smuggled in these 7 facilities.

The total number of violated goods temporarily seized by the Hanoi Market Management on the day of the May 21 was 2,370 products.

After verification and processing time, in June 2020, Hanoi Market Management issued a decision on sanctioning administrative violations for 6/7 establishments, a fine of 220,250,000 VND for violations failing to post price lists as prescribed, trading in smuggled goods and selling fake goods with trademarks. At the same time, confiscated 755 smuggled products, worth 71,950 million VND and forced the destruction of 1,435 products with counterfeit trademarks, worth 326,800 million VND.

In addition, Hanoi Market Management has implemented additional sanctions: suspending trading in infringing goods for a period of 2 months for the above 6 violating business units.
