Ho Chi Minh City students won 12 international math contest medals
All 12 6th graders in Ho Chi Minh City attended the WMO 2019 international math competition, both won medals, including 2 silver medals and 10 copper medals.


World Math Olympiad - World MathFusion Olympiad 2019 organized by the World General Math Olympiad Association (WMO) on August 11, in Bangkok (Thailand).

Participating in this contest, the Vietnamese team has 12 grade 6 students of secondary schools in Ho Chi Minh City. These are the candidates selected by Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training in collaboration with EMG Education Company - Official representative unit at Vietnam of WMO held in last late June.

Through two individual and team competitions, the Vietnamese team won 12 medals. In which Nguyen Minh Tri and Huynh Minh Dat (6th grade student, Tran Dai Nghia High School) together won silver medals, 10 remaining students received copper medals.

This is the fourth year Vietnam attended the final round with contestants from many countries, such as China, Canada, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Pakistan, Mexico, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Bangladesh.

World MathFusion Olympiad (WMO) is an international math exam for students aged 8-13, holds annually, attracts thousands of students from Korea, China, Thailand, Canada, and UK.

This year, Thailand leads the achievement at WMO 2019, followed by South Korea and Canada. This is an intellectual playground for young math talents, thence students from many countries around the world have the opportunity to experience, try and interact with peers representing many countries where develop math background.
