The Prime Minister came up with the initiative to combat plastic wastes
On June 29, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc continued to attend important sessions of the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan.

Speaking at the meeting on climate - environment, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized climate change, environmental pollution, energy security instability are challenging the survival of mankind; Proposing countries to have breakthroughs and innovations in mobilizing efficient allocation of resources and full implementation of climate and environment commitments.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam strictly implemented the Paris Agreement on climate; It is recommended that international countries and communities strengthen practical support for vulnerable countries on climate change, including the Mekong Delta region responding to climate change.

The Prime Minister stressed that plastic waste seriously degrades the marine ecosystem, is an urgent global problem; Proposing countries to join hands in developing institutions and regulations on sea and ocean in order to control, minimize and prevent plastic wastes.

Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam has been mobilizing the participation of the whole society in the anti-plastic waste movement, striving to not use disposable plastic products by 2025.

The Prime Minister came up with the initiative to promote the creation of a global network of sea-ocean data sharing and move towards the Global Framework for Preventing Plastic Wastes for Green Oceans.

At the session on sustainable development, leaders affirmed to strengthen cooperation in implementing the 2030 Agenda on sustainable development; support developing countries to meet the sustainable development goals (SDG) on time, especially in the areas of poverty reduction, high quality infrastructure, education, environment, health, energy and etc.
