SK Group funded 30 million USD to build Vietnam Innovation Center
The National Innovation Center, scheduled to be built in an industrial park in Hanoi, will welcome about 40 large technology companies and 150 start-up companies.


On June 9, SK Group - Korea's third largest corporation announced a plan to finance 30 million USD to support the project of building the National Innovation Center (NIC) of Vietnam.

SK Group president Chey Tae-won reached this agreement during a three-day visit to Vietnam over the past week and he was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

NIC, expected to be built in an industrial park in Hanoi, will welcome about 40 large technology companies and 150 start-up companies. Under the plan, the construction project will be completed by 2020.

Last month, SK Group announced that the group would buy 6.1% of Vingroup, Vietnam's leading corporation for $ 1 billion.
