Vietnam Nuclear Medicine: many new advances in cancer diagnosis and treatment
The Vietnam - Japan forum held on March 28 with the topic "Radiation medicine and information on human resource development", Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Khoa, Director of the Center for Nuclear Medicine and Cancer (Bach Mai Hospital) introduced new techniques of nuclear medicine.

These techniques include IMRT dose-adjusted radiotherapy, PET / CT combination imaging, gamma-splicing radiotherapy, RIT-radiation immunity, concomitant radiation therapy for cancer throat cancer; using GEANT4 program to calculate dose mapping simulation on 3D images and etc. Currently, The techniques have been applied in 19 hospitals across the country.

One of the remarkable techniques is the combination of traditional computerized tomography (CT) scan with positron tomography (PET). In Vietnam, PET / CT only appeared for nearly 10 years, was first applied in Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Hospital.
