Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Hanoi Polytechnic University and Naver South Korean technology corporation.

At the signing ceremony, Assoc.Prof. Hoang Minh Son, Rector of School, said that "human resources and technological knowledge have become the core competitive factors of every business and every organization."

Increasingly aware of the importance of AI, both private businesses and governments are increasingly investing in the application of AI. A report by Deloitte, a global group of advisory services, predicts that global market value related to AI will sharply increase to US $ 6,000 billion by 2025 and maintain a 30% growth rate from 2017 to 2025. According to CB Insight smarket research firm, 2019 AI startups around the world raised a record $ 26.6 billion, up 60% from the previous two years.

All major science and engineering universities in the world are striving to catch the next wave of technology - Artificial Intelligence. According to the 2018 AI Index, the number of undergraduate students pursuing this field continues to increase. In the US, this number increased nearly 4 times from 2012 to 2018. In China, Tsinghua University alone has witnessed the number of students enrolling in AI courses up to16 times within 7 years.

Not out of the trend of the world, in 2019, Hanoi Polytechnic University opened a new field of Data and Artificial Intelligence Department. "This shows the leading role of Hanoi Polytechnic University in training experts in key areas of technology 4.0", Assoc.Prof. Ta Hai Tung, Director of the Institute of Information Technology and Communications (SoICT), spoke.

As one of 16 training institutes of Hanoi Polytechnic University, SoICT currently has 5 technology research laboratories 4.0 including computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing or blockchain.

In addition to opening Naver's first AI training and research center in Vietnam, the Korean corporation is also committed to investing and giving students of the Hanoi Polytechnic University the best learning program for Group AI's top experts.

Naver will create opportunities for students, trainees and graduate students of the University to have the opportunity to study and work at Naver Labs through scholarships and opportunities to work in Korea and Europe. Naver will also support Hanoi Polytechnic University  researchers, lecturers and students to develop their expertise through scientific exchange programs and workshops.

Assoc. Prof. Hoang Minh Son expects that the cooperation with Naver to build a global AI research belt will help detect and support Vietnamese talents in the field of AI “and contribute to creating a new development step for the Public Revolution fourth time in Vietnam."
