Acceptance of the results of the project "Solutions to increase the value of export products of Can Tho city to 2020, with a vision to 2030"
On August 21, 2019, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology organized a Science and Technology Council to accept the project "Solutions to increase the value of export products of Can Tho city to 2020, vision to 2030.” The study was implementedd by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Quan Minh Nhut, Can Tho Social and Economic Institute is a presiding agency.

The objective of the project is to assess the situation and propose solutions to increase the value of export products in Can Tho city to 2020, with a vision to 2030.

Through the implementation of the project, the research team has proposed many solutions, such as reviewing the planning of key industries (rice, aquatic products, fruit trees, vegetables, textiles and etc); assess the impact of the existing policies to encourage development; building long-term business strategies in accordance with the requirements, the actual situation of each market and the ability of enterprises; developing brand and maximizing value added for export agricultural products by advanced and modern processing technologies. At the same time, propose competent authorities to promulgate policies to stimulate investment, provide specialized support for key commodities (pangasius, rice, logistics and supporting industries) in order to effectively focus the sources capital, technology and human resources.

The council accepted the study unanimously, but the research team needed to revise the report according to the comments of the council members.
