The first high school in Ho Chi Minh City teaches about artificial intelligence
In the school year 2019-2020, Le Hong Phong High School becomes the first high school in Ho Chi Minh City to teach AI to students in the whole school.


According to MS. Pham Thi Be Hien, Headmaster of Le Hong Phong High School for  the 2019-2020 school year, the school begins teaching AI for students in all 3 blocks and the intensive teaching schedule for AI subjects in the following semesters, in order to train students to develop comprehensively in the intellectuality, technology, aptitude, skills for students.

In the first semester, students are provided with the knowledge of what is AI, why AI is important, the necessary knowledge skills to program and research on AI and etc.

In addition, the school also plans an intensive teaching course for AI subjects in the following semesters. Specifically learning about mathematical foundations for AI research; natural language processing, helping machine understand text and sound, voice; machine vision; machine learning, system integration for intelligent robots; process that combines both audio and video in integrated systems to assist people, such as self-driving cars, smart homes, and virtual assistants and etc.

Mrs Hien said, after a semester of study, many students were interested and enrolled to continue intensive courses, such as creativity, programming, and math.

It is the University's desire to be connected with the university for the right majors so that students who complete the intensive high school AI program, can continue to study, thereby shortening the time to study at university level.
