The Southern Department of Work, Institute of Equipment and Metrology Inspection (under the Ministry of Science and Technology) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health (Ministry of Health) in resolving problems of wastewater treatment in small-scale health facilities.

According to Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Hai, Director of the Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health (Ministry of Health), this signing aims to work together to solve social problems. This is a function of the Institute, but in Ho Chi Minh City and the South is not close. Therefore, this signing is considered an important step in addressing wastewater issues at medical facilities in Ho Chi Minh City.

Associate pro. Hai said that at present, Ho Chi Minh City has a large number of clinics but most of them do not have optimal wastewater treatment solutions. Therefore, the Institute will coordinate with the units of the Ministry of Science and Technology in the South to approach and conduct a survey of clinic water quality, then give the technology appropriate to the clinic scale. These technologies are affordable, within the capacity of clinics.

According to Nguyen Van Dien, director of the nano-environment company, the company is now cooperating with the Institute of Occupational Health and Environment to develop a wastewater treatment technology with a capacity of treating 4 cubic meters of wastewater / 1 day with nanotechnology. The cost for each device is about less than 100 million VND.
