On June 11, 2020, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology set up a Council for acceptance of the project "Making and evaluation of artificial positives and primers to diagnose acute respiratory infections caused by new strains of coronavirus." The study is implemented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Trong Lam and Dr. Hoang Quoc Cuong. The Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute is an implementation unit.
